The female of Candonocyprisnovaezelandiae (Baird, 1843) found in River Nile of Egypt. It is the first certain record of this species in North Africa. This species belongs to Podocopida-Cypridacea-Cypridididae-Herpetocypridinae and is characterized by prominent selvage, smooth carapace and furca with unequal claws. Scanning electron micrographs of the valves and soft parts are provided and discussion of their characteristics with those presented by former authors.
